Ran tonight. It felt much better. I was so proud of myself for running the large majority of it. I'm still sore, but I think it's getting better. My body seems to loosen itself out when I get going. I tried to drink lots of water, and eat well, but I made banana bread mini muffins for an activity so I ended up eating a few of those :)

You've already run two marathons, you should try trail running. Trail ultras are really fun (in a sick, twisted kind of way)!

Good for you for starting new habits! I was right where you are back in 2008 when I first started running. I lost 30 pounds and kept it off ever since. At first I couldn't run a half mile without walking. But now I've run dozens of half marathons and 1 marathon.

You should sign up for a 5k (3.1 miles) after you've been running for a month. It's ok if you take walk breaks. This will give you a baseline from where you were when you first started running. Then in two months run another 5k and in 3 months run another.... you'll be amazed at how much you improve. I think running one race a month is a great way to stay motivated to run even on days when you don't feel like it. Races aren't about racing other people... they are about racing yourself and improving your own times.

Welcome to the blog!
